Welcome to the WGBH Social Media Portal! This website is intended to be a resource for WGBH employees whose work intersects with social media in any way – in content creation, asset management, distribution, or strategy – and others interested in the ways public media viewers and listeners are consuming content.

WGBH is the home of dozens of productions for both public television and public radio, including iconic national series Frontline, American Experience, Masterpiece, NOVA, Antiques Roadshow, and PRI’s The World. We’re trying new things with new platforms every day, and want to share our successes, failures, and most importantly what we’re learning. The Portal is organized into four main verticals:

  • News You Can Use: Original stories from WGBH producers, and monthly roundups of social media platform changes
  • Social @ WGBH: Case studies and news from WGBH’s efforts in social media
  • Public Media: News from social media innovation around the public media system
  • Newsletter: A complete archive of the WGBH Social Media Portal newsletter, sent weekly on Friday mornings

The Social Media Portal is managed by Tory Starr, WGBH’s Director of Social Media, and Kate Ida, Social Media Producer.
